Stressful Week

Someday i’ll have to learn to keep my big mouth shut for my own benefits.
Someday i’ll have to accept when my views and and opinions are not valued even if i’ve been asked to give one.
Someday i’ll have to stop caring so much and learn not to be affected by people’s criticism.

It all ends up with me treating myself better and holding myself like a sponge – absorb the positive and squeeze out the negative, ain’t it?

Ok, you won’t understand what i’m rattling about. But there are alot of stuff going on in my life that has left me very anxious, worried and stressful at the moment. It’s been days of insomnia again. Sigh… Year of Tiger come on, give me a break! But i digress. I’ll leave that part of the information out for the time being, maybe till the end of the week.

Speaking of stressful stuffs, i heard few more churches was attacked making a total of 8 churches now. Outrageous if you ask me. I’m an Atheist (free thinker) myself but that doesn’t mean i disrespect people that holds to their religion. Attacking a religious house is really out of bounds and all over a stupid issue. It’s a disgrace that there are Malaysians that could stoop so low.

Sin City

What do you think of the idea of getting married just to have sex?

It’s crazy right? But i know lots of people who did that. The marriage ended up in divorce within months but they knew that would happen and didn’t care. They just want to “do it” so they tied the knot.

I think it’s really wrong. Not so much that they are actually insulting the idea of marriage but because of their beliefs and thinking. To them it’s legal, it’s acceptable and religion wise it’s not wrong.

They think it’s sinful to commit sex before marriage because religion forbids it but they think it’s ok to get married not for love but just for sex. Why? Because religion says it’s ok to do sex after marriage.

Kids nowadays have the guts to run to Thailand to get married so they can have sex legally without being caught by JAWI and most important, because “doing it” without getting married will piss the lord. I’m stunned.

Which is worst? Get married to have sex then get a divorce after a few months or accidentally impregnate someone then get married because it doesn’t hurt to get free sex then get divorce after a few months? Speechless.

Karma

I woke up at six in the morning with a full bladder threatening to rupture. I really should limit my liquid intake before bedtime else have the damn toilet bowl permanently plastered to my rear end. But that is not the sole purpose i jolted up from slumber albeit the excruciating pressure from my abdomen.

Deep, undisturbed sleep comes scarcely these days. I had a dream. An unkind dream. Ok, the word unkind is way too… kind. It’s more like a gruesome and appalling nightmare of dogs bludgeoned to death. Battered dogs trying to escape, screaming in agony with broken bones and bloodied smashed skulls, chase by none other than dogs’ best friend, men. That topped my Most-Fearful-Nightmare-In-My-Life list next to the scary-white-haired-vampire dream i had when i was twelve.

As i get older… yes, every once in a while i have to admit that i am not as young as i use to be. Muscle and bone aches aside, suspicious signs of unwanted spots and lines would not let me forget this fact. Please kill me now. Ok, ok, let’s not talk about aging and wrinkles.

As i was saying, the older i get the more strong am i a believer of karma. Perhaps it is because i see things that make me lose faith in humanity every single day. Men can be so cruel and heartless and unkind. I’m not a deeply religious person, in fact i’m not much into religion at all but believing that cruelty without a fair retribution, that’s the only way to keep my sanity. If everyone believes in karma, the world would be a better place.

I hope karma hits my neighbor hard. You see, they have a black coated dog which the keep inside the house compound. It’s a she and she is a supremely loyal dog. Then one night, the house was robbed with them sleeping soundly in their room. The door lock wasn’t broken into, the robbers sneaked in from the ceiling (you know the kind where you could just lift off the ceiling plaster). The dog was outside so it didn’t bark or make any noise. My neighbor threw the her out the next day.

It’s really sad to see her sitting outside the house gate waiting for the owner to let him enter. Everyday and night she would be there waiting. She got skinnier and skinnier. In the morning the dog will scour the neighborhood for scrap of food and rummage through rubbish bins, sometimes being shooed away, sometimes being chased with a stick. But every time she found food, she would take it back to the gate and eat it there while waiting for the owner. It went on for a few weeks. She got so bony that she couldn’t defend herself from other dogs.

I couldn’t stand the sight of the starving dog, so i would sometimes take left over food to her. But the owner saw me one day and didn’t say a word. The next day, they took the dog back into the house. i don’t know if it’s a good or a bad thing. I suspect my neighbor took her in because he didn’t want us spreading the news to others in the neighborhood. Perhaps he just wanted to maintain a good image. The poor dog is still bony and i still see her wondering around the area in the morning when the neighbor lets her out. But at least she have a shelter at night against the rain.

Last night at the food court, a pregnant cat wondered around the vicinity and happens to pass by a table occupied by a family of 5. The wife and a teenage daughter got up, disgusted. The husband took a plastic chair and bashed the cat. It screamed and scampered away. This happened twice because the cat came by that way again. The husband beat the cat right in front of their small daughter, i think she was just 6 year old sitting on a toddler’s chair, crying. What lesson is that going to teach the kid?

I hope karma is real. I hope karma hits everybody hard. What goes around comes around.

I just hope i won’t become a friggin’ cockroach in the next life. Mr. Bf’s kitchen is full of it and i kill one everyday… come to think of it, i hope i wont be re-born a mosquito too. Wtf.

The Root Of All Evil

Read a blog entry by minishorts. It’s about the age old question, ‘What is the root of all evil?’.

“What do you think the root of all evil is?”

“Morality.”

“Why?”

“Because from morality, stems the concept and essence of evil. From there, came the rules of what should be good and bad according the people who made them. Rules that otherwise force people to judge, to be prejudiced and ultimately, to do the very things that are evil for the sake of removing what they think is evil.”

“Then why not fault that to religion where morality stems from in the first place?”

“Probably because religion was a good idea. The rules that came with it however was a very bad one.”

- extracted from minishorts -

I pondered about it for quite sometime. Is there actually an answer to this question? I would god damn like to know coz i sure don’t have it.

Over the time there are many who tried to come up with the answer. I heard (or read) quite a handful myself. Among the many conclusions, some say the root of all evil is greed, many says it’s religion, most says it’s money. But i sure don’t think morality is the answer. How could morality be the root of all evil when morality is just a notion created by men?

So i would assume that ‘The Root Of All Evil’ has similar meaning as ‘The Source Of All Evil’. If the source of all evil is morality (or to be more precise, the existence of morality), then it only means men are to blame. Who came up with the notion of morality? Non other than men.

Hence, the question is why. Why did morality exist? Some would say it’s religion. Religion let us to believe what is good and what is bad, what is acceptable in the society and what is not, what will bring us to heaven and what would let us to hell. Hence with religion comes morality.

Then this brings us to conclude that the root of evil is religion and not morality.

But who created religion? Non other than men.

So is root of all things evil, men? If you believe in the existence of god then it would trace back to god as the source of evil, since god created men. Else you might as well blame it on the Big Bang.

But let’s take god or the Big Bang Theory out of the equation. I don’t think god created men and sprinkle good or evil dust on them just for fun. I think god created all men without any preference for good or evil. I don’t think the Big Bang have anything to do with men being evil either.

Reverse back to religion. That must be the answer.

But aha! Not everyone believes in religion. But everyone has a certain level of morality. And crime (evil) are not necessarily committed by someone with a religion. Which kinda defunct the last few conclusions. The root is neither morality nor religion. It’s neither god nor the Big Bang.

So what is the root? How about desire?

The root of all evil is desire.

This is the closest i could come up with. It kinda make other (most anyways) theory go kaput. If you say the root of evil is money, it can’t be right coz greed makes you wants money. And desire for a better and luxurious life makes you greedy. It boils down to desire.

If you say morality is the source, it’s not right either. Coz what makes you breach morality? Desire. And what about religion? Religion is created by men for their conveniences. What result in something being acceptable in a religion and what’s not? It’s all rules set by men. And influenced men when they set the rules. Desire. Desire to create a near perfect community.

Now ponder upon this.

Ps:// It’s just my thoughts. Thou shalt not be offended.

Does Chinese Ghostbusters Works?

I had a conversation with a certain someone that pricked my curiosity nerve. He told me that one of his colleague is being disturbed by creepy “things” at night. He would go to bed only to be awakened in the middle at night by sounds of knocking on his bedroom door. Some nights there were even sounds of his guitar (which is in the next room) being plucked.

I asked him what did his friend do. He said “Now he just sleeps with his door opened.”. I salute his courage.

Obviously, i’m a believer of spirits and if you would like to call it… ghost… and guess i have a bravado of a size of a bird brain. If it was me i would have moved out quicker than you could say “Boo!”.

That aside, my brain began to formulate a plan on how to help him eradicate the spirits problem. I was convinced that it’s bad feng shui. All he needed to do was to hang a feng shui “wu lou” (bottle gourd) at the door or something and his problem will be gone. Better still, hire a Taoist priest or a Chinese ghostbuster for a session of peace offering. *That’s how all the Chinese ghost movies go right?.

But then, it hit me. What if he’s a Christian? Which turned out to be true. He is a Christian. Then he should instead hire a priest from the church or something right? Problem solved…

But what if the spirit is a Buddhist? Does hiring a priest from a Catholic church work?

But what if the spirit is from Islam or any other religion?

And why haven’t we heard of a Buddhist ghost haunting a Catholic or Islam?

The big question.

Does spirits have religion or does spirits remain the same religion as when they are still human/alive anyways?

Mr. Bf came out with an interesting theory. Maybe when a person dies, the spirits becomes indifferent or detached from religion. (I am in no attempt to say this true. It is just a spontaneous theory. Don’t get angry or sensitive please). We (those that’s alive) perceive the spirits according to our own personal spiritual believes. That is, if i believe in Buddhism then the spirits would be in the form of my Buddhism beliefs or if i’m a Hindu then it’ll have some Hindu influence. It’s purely psychological.

It does sound logical and it make perfect sense. But then a free thinker like myself will have a very colourful encounter of spirits. If it’s purely psychological, then the ghost i might encounter *touch wood, touch wood, touch wood! would look like this.

What do you think?
