Crowd Control

Nothing frustrates me more than to see someone jump queue especially if it’s happening to me. Imagine a mad rush to the counter to get a ticket or to make payment at the cashier only to be met by a long queue that seems to go on forever. Then after a tiresome wait, someone have the guts to just walk straight to the counter ignoring the fact that it’s actually your turn.  It makes me so mad when that happens!

I think every fast food joint, Cineplex, bank, food court, book signing events and any other such public places needs to exercise some crowd control.  Even at the airport the crowd could get out of control because trust me not all airports have stanchions. I have the unfortunate time at these airports where everyone was elbowing everyone else to get to the counter.

Crowd control products such as stanchions and Crowd control products such as and velvet rope help the public stay in line; so there’s no confusion and no queue jumping.  Stanchions with retractable belts are placed in front of the counter so that people would know where the line is and enable them to wait for their turn in an orderly way.

barricades are one product that not only serves as a great crowd control item but it’s also useful as temporary blocking product. Take for an instance at a warehouse or at a crime scene where the person in charge might use safety barricades to restrict public access.

It would be a more peaceful world if there were crowd control products where it should be. Yes, it’ll definitely put things in order and we would have less excuse to be frustrated.

I Cannot Stand

… people who don’t wont’ decide what movies to watch before going to the ticket counter. It really annoys me especially when the queue is so long and i waited almost an hour lining up.

Why can’t these people be more considerate?? Deciding what to watch before going to the cinema very difficult is it? Even if not, then deciding while you’re queuing up, before it’s your turn at the ticket counter would cause you brain damage is it?!

Why is it that you find it ok making a long discussion at the counter on what movies to watch which blardy seats to take and which of you is to pay… when everybody behind you is staring at you vividly imagining the many ways to drown you. Wtf.

By the way, Night at the Museum 2 was so lame. No review on that coz it was disappointing.

Dao Mei

As expected, our Valentine’s Day turned out to be another disaster. But it’s ok coz we were sooooo unlucky that day, it was funny.

You know, Valentine’s Day is really like a Black Friday for us. Everything that we planned to do will be a flop… without fail each year. The last 2 Valentines, we ended up with a huge argument and we had to postponed the celebration coz i was not done sulking >_<. So, we kind of agreed and made a pack not to buy gifts or celebrate Valentine’s Day this year or maybe the years after. It’s not like i’m a grinch or don’t like to be lovey dovey for a day but i think our birth dates clashes with Valentine’s Day or something, bad things just happends to us on Vday and Mr. Bf isn’t really the romantic type ler hey, i’m running out of idea on gifts too ok. Who isn’t right? Haha. Right.

Even so, that didn’t stopped us from having a rotten day on V-day. First we were stuck in the traffic for like forever. It was early afternoon but already the roads are packed with vehicles. We were there looking for a certain backpack for trekking use just because his friend, Kelvin told us that the shop at KLCC have that particular one that we were looking for. It took us double the time to get to KLCC and we were cranky and nearly screamed at each other in the car. Then we found out the shop doesn’t even carry that brand of backpack! Wtf! We’re so going to kill him!

Since we were at KLCC we went to CIMB to open a joint account. We waited almost an hour in the queue and when it was our turn the stupid Malay woman eyed suspiciously me up and down and started interogating us. I mean it’s just a joint account wat? It’s not like we’re smuggling fake money or wat! Somemore when i asked her about foreign cheques she launched into a long speech on how the bank is going to charge high fees to clear it then how it’s not worth cashing out the cheque. Wtf. When i asked her about the fees she just shrugged and say she don’t know. In the end we were so frustrated we didn’t open the account.

When it rains it pours. We thought having a hot meal would make us forget the bad day, and we had the worst lunch i ever had. The food sucks big time! We spend the rest of the day caught in traffic driving to the Curve and 1U. I couldn’t even find the handbag that i wanted. Then on the way back home there was another round of traffic. Grrrr!

Now i really believe Valentine’s are not in our feng shui book.

I Got RM1250 of Road Tax Rebates. Bwahaha!

Yesterday mark the start date for Malaysians motorists to get their road tax rebates. (An attempt from the government to cushion the blow of the recent fuel hike). The rebate of up to RM625.00 – private vehicle; RM150.00 for motorcycles, are for those who had paid their road tax within April and May. For those who had paid before April you’re not eligible for rebate this year, while for those after the month of May, you’ll get it in July.

Even though the claim period is from yesterday till the end of March next year, being typical Malaysians, when there are announcement of cash rebates, everyone would be queuing up since the wee hour in the morning.

Mom was paranoid. She woke me up 2 hours early to drive all the way to the post office. Her exact words are “I’m getting the cash today no matter what! Mana tahu now they say got rebate, next week say rebate called off?!”.

-_-” Nothing beats getting hands on cold hard cash huh?. I guess most of the people especially elders have the same thinking because there were so many people waiting for the post office gate to open. For a mere RM150.00 rebate, some motorcyclists were banging the gate with their helmets nearly causing a riot. Yeah, people are really getting that poor and desperate with the new fuel price.

Since there were 2 counters open for that day, we waited almost 3 hour to get the RM1250. RM1250 coz it’s for 2 vehicles. I strongly advise you to get an old dying car just to rip the road tax rebates. How’s that for a backup plan? *muahahaha!

Ps: You can opt of the “kiriman wang” (postal order) if you don’t have time to stand in the queue. They’ll send the cheque to your home.
