Origins Checks and Balances™ Frothy Face Wash

Origins Checks and Balances™ Frothy Face Wash is one of the best cleanser that i have bought.

I have sensitive and combination skin (oily T-zone and dry dehydrated patches everywhere else) which is not the easiest skin to buy face wash for. Some face wash makes my skin oily just a few hours after washing and some leaves my skin very dry and flaky.

Origins Checks and Balances™ face wash is a gentle face wash that’s perfect for my skin type. It thoroughly cleansers the face from dirt and control secretion of sebum while at the same time protects the dry area.

The face wash contains ingredients such as Broad Leaf Kelp Extract that discourages excess oil production, Wheat Protein that balances and protects dry prone zones and Tourmaline that makes water wetter to more easily disperse dirt and sebum down the drain.

It contains Bergamot, Spearmint and Lavender smells fabulous. The spearmint gives it a minty and refreshing touch. I just love it!

It lathers really well. A little goes a long way. Just a small amount is enough to foam into a creamy lather so the tube could last a really, really long time.

I love the fact that it leaves the face squeaky clean without any residue feeling. The skin doesn’t feel tight after washing but instead the skin feels soft and moist.

It retails at RM88.00 for 150ml (i’m not really sure because i get mine from US when my sis comes back).

Origins A Perfect World™ White Tea Skin Guardian

Take a look at my skin analysis before you conclude on the product yeah :)

Origins A Perfect World™ White Tea Skin Guardian retails for RM180 (30ml) or RM225 (50ml) at the local Origins outlet.

It contains Boswellia, Mimosa, Orange & Bergamot and of course Silver Tip White Tea, all key ingredients to protect your skins from pollutants, stress and aging. White Tea Skin Guardian is an emulsion that creates a shield against environment aggressors and creates a barrier to banish signs of oxidation, deterioration and dehydration.

Basically it serves like a protective layer on your skin not as a moisturizer as some think it is.

It smells good and the skin definitely feels smooth and soft instantly after applying the emulsion. With the product on, the skin looks healthier and with less visible fine lines. Almost like a new layer of baby smooth skin.

However, i’m not too fond of this product because it doesn’t moisturize and doesn’t have SPF protection from the sun. I think it’s rather pricey since i can get other anti-oxidant range of product that serves also as a moisturizer for similar price.

Also, it says on the label that it’s to be used before moisturizer, under make-up or alone. After applying the White Tea Skin Guardian, i find that the make-up tends to become cakey. Concealer and foundation doesn’t blend well with the skin guardian.

Not one of my favorite products from Origins.

Origins Clear Improvement Mask

I bought Origins Clear Improvement Mask (100ml) almost a year ago for RM95.00 and i’m still using the same tube.

Not that it’s not a good mask. On the contrary, it’s a great mask for deep cleansing and clearing the pores from impurities. It only takes a little to cover the face so since i’ve been using maybe once a week or once every 2 weeks when i’m in the mood or when i’m lazy maybe 3 weeks once, my first tube is still intact for at least a few more applications.

Excuse the not so clean cover. I’ve used this tube for almost a year :S

The mask contains charcoal properties which draw out pore-cloggers from… well the pores (haha), the White China Clay absorbs environmental toxins while lecithin dissolves impurities.

It’s really a must-have kind of mask because the environment around us is getting worst. Just look at the air pollution and haze! For people who uses make-up all the time this is great.

It’s especially a necessity for acne skin. I’ve seen an huge improvement to my skin after i start using this mask. My skin feels smoother with less white heads and it helps to lessen acne too.

Do be careful not to over use it though to avoid drying up the skin. Recommended use is once a week. I use it in the weekends because that’s when i uses make-up the most.

The texture of the mask is not too thick like most of the charcoal mask in the market. It’s more runny and watery compared to charcoal mask from brands like Kose or Shiseido and unlike those 2 brand of masks which are peel-off masks, Origins Clear Improvement Mask is a wash-off mask.

All you need to do is open pores with warm, moist towel and layer mask on. A thin layer is sufficient hence there’s no need to slap on too much – just as long as it covers the whole face (avoid eye and mouth area please). Allow it to dry (around 10 to 15 minutes) then rinse well and you’re well to go.

I’m Allergic To Everything

It seems i’ve developed another benign allergy. That’s not surprising as much as frustrating because as i get older, my stupid immune system seems to think it’s fun playing cruel jokes on me. But it’s getting ridiculous even by my weak standard ok.

1) Banana Boat sunblock ->> After deciding to jog again (partly for health reason, mostly to be drop-dead-slimmed-down gorgeous), i bought sunblock so i won’t have skin cancer from over-exposure to the sun. But i get these red spots all over the area after application. The only consolation is that it doesn’t itch. Who the hell get’s allergic to Banana Boat product for gods sake?!!! Oh, i forgot. Me.

2) Dust ->> I found out about this one when my former cheapskate employer decided to renovate the office but didn’t bother to relocate us. So we were rather unhappily sitting right in front of the renovation site, sneezing our nose off. Don’t get me wrong. We loved it because for the next couple of weeks we were happily celebrating by taking turn for MC. Then the celebration was over because i was the only one getting really sick and had rashes all over my body which didn’t heal for the next few months. Wtf.

3) EPI Products ->> Remember i told you about the moronic beautician who destroyed my face? Well she pushed me into purchasing almost RM1k worth of product which after as it turned out that i was allergic to. She of course vehemently denies it but i stopped using the products and my acne problem got better and my scars healed. My new beautician says i’m allergic to some kind of enzyme in that brand of products and i trust her. There, the stupid product brand is EPI. I’m glad i got that out of my system. My suggestion to new user of that brand, thread water carefully, test it at least for 3 months before purchasing.

4) Salicylic Acid ->> All of a sudden, i’m allergic to products containing Salicylic Acid meaning mostly ALL acne products. Which sux because i have acne and i need that ingredient to control the sebum on my face. But i can’t use it because my lips would start to chap and blister and burn if comes to contact with that particular ingredient no matter how minimal it is. So F*ck Salicylic Acid. I’m going to commission a professor to create an elixir for acne… yes, right after i hit jackpot.

5) Haze ->> It’s a sign that i must migrate from this evil land as soon as possible before i die a horrible death coz we know very well the haze won’t go away. Doc says that my nose and throat is a little inflamed but i suspect he is subtly telling me “Haze bad. Kill you. Painful death. Get out. Now!”… I think the haze is making me paranoid. Hey doc, i need more medication.

6) Origins Perfect World for Eye ->> Oh, this is a new one. I just bought the eye cream last week and after applying the cream around my eye area, my eyes puffed up and kept on getting watery like i was slicing onion or something. All the while i thought it was because of my insomnia and haze allergy but no, it was the eye cream. It’s so ridiculous because i never heard of anyone getting allergic to this particular product. Why does shit always happens to me. Oh goody what fun.

Somebody please kill me. Uhm… Preferably not with a knife coz you know… uhm… i might develop an allergy to stainless steel too. I don’t want to die with a face and body full of disgusting rashes. Please let me be beautiful when i die.

Maybe you can stab me with a chopstick, less risk there.
