Kiasu me.
Watched this on 17th, that’s before the official release date in Malaysia. Yes, i was extremely excited about Harry Potter. Not that i’m a super crazy fan of the book or even the movie, i just think the book is a great read (i read the complete collection 4 times already which i still find enjoyable because i have short attention span and parts of the book still surprises me even on my fourth read! Geez!) and i’ve already watched the other episodes so i’m die, die also want to follow the rest of the episodes.
I have mixed feelings about this episode though. It’s not because of the lack in action because i’ve already expected that. 3/4 of the book was about Harry, Ron and Hermione on the run and waiting, waiting and waiting so it’s to be expected that this first half of the episode is just a built up to the next episode.
I kind of enjoyed it and i think they did a great job because it’s not an easy story to make. The main characters was funny and convincing even though some of the characters in the movie is not as i imagined from the book, i.e. Rufus Scrimgeour which i imagined would be a Einstein look-a-like and Xenophilius Lovegood i imagined would be a lot more whacky.
The plot atmosphere was a lot darker and adult. Rupert Grint was brilliant as always Emma Watson is as always gorgeous! It’s like am Emma Watson fashion show in there LOL. The gorgeous designer red dress by Jenny Packham omg!
However what irks me is that most of the details in the movie had been altered; it was completely different from the book. It’s funny that a friend who is a diehard fan of Harry Potter challenged me to name a few scenes that had been changed. Unfortunately i couldn’t even come up with one but for the record i kinda just knew when i watch the movie.
Now i can absolutely confirm because right now i am reading the Deathly Hallow for the 5th time, ha!
I wouldn’t go as far as to say this installment of Harry Potter is pointless. I just wish that they had just made one movie instead of two like maybe a 3 hour movie or so. It’s a downer that we have to wait another year for the final installment.
Hmm… for a non Harry Potter fan i am rambling on and on about Harry Potter. Now you’re never going to believe me when i say i’m not a fan huh?
Ps: Next i will be ranting about Narnia and Due Date and maybe i’ll throw in a review about my fav Bollywood movie, the Three Idiots (i’ve watched that like 4 times on the same week ages ago la but still… it’s super awesome).
