New watch :)

New watch :)

I came back from Pavilion yesterday i happy, happy girl :). Mr. Bf bought me a new watch from Fossil! Yay!

Don’t ask me why but i love Fossil since like forever and i was dying to get a new Fossil watch but couldn’t find a design that i liked. I like watches with big face diameters but i have a really small wrist, most of them are too big so my wrist gets swallowed up. I don’t want to get a small girlish watch instead. It’s so not my style. Ok lar, i not very feminine can?

Anyways, i saw the new collection online and i drag Mr. Bf to Pavilion even though he was down with a cold. Poor thing had to wonder around the mall as if he’s stoned on weed. But nevermind cause i promised to belanje him his favorite cendol and give him all the TLC he can digest after we have a look at the watch.

Here’s the model i wanted to have a look. They have it in white, purple, pink and blue. I didn’t like the purple, pink is totally a no-no and white was nice but i don’t like the white dial.

I got the blue one!

I was looking forward to choosing the tin box too but they have just 3 selection and none of it was really nice. Potong steam only.

Mr. Bf chose this for me instead.

See how it fits my wrist perfectly? Most of the watch i tried on, you can’t even see the strap, the whole watch face covers my wrist -_-”.

I was super duper happy when we left the shop but now i’m just super happy without the duper coz i found out they i can change the strap to other colors next time, i just have to buy a new strap and they have all the basic colors, black, pink, purple, navy and green but they don’t have it in white! Why no white??!!!

MommyTeddy: See i got a whistle! Just now those MCA people got give talk on security and measures. I passed by and they were giving out these.
Me: Bring here. Let me see.
Mommyteddy: Nowadays so dangerous out there. They even show us how to use. Blow 3 times stop blow 1 time stop. Another 1 then stop… blah blah blah… means your car broke down…
Me: Ceh, blow cow lar! Blow how many times people out there also won’t notice. They don’t even know the meaning. Only know you blow whistle lor.
MommyTeddy: Listen to me first lar! Then hor… Blow 2 times then stop then… means you’re in danger…
KidCheng: Mou liu! So after you blow the whistle… MCA come rescue you is it?
Me: Hahahahahahaha
MommyTeddy: -_-”

As i was telling EatAllYouCanShung about this silly conversation we had with mom, it hit us that those MCA people were teaching the public Morse Codes.

I find Morse Codes fantastically intriguing. The fact that this language standard was and still is used internationally via various mediums says a whole lot. Remember Titanic? Well, the RMS Titanic operator was signaling SOS using Morse Codes before it sank. Lighthouse’s guard switches the light from the tower on and off base on Morse to caution air flights. People with severe motion disabilities in addition to sensory disabilities (e.g. people who are also deaf or blind) can receive Morse through a skin buzzer! War prisoners even used Morse to communicate with each other by tapping on the wall coz talking aloud would warrant suspicion and severe punishment.

We use to have this at home..not old..vintage lar

That aside, it reminded me of how i used to tap on the switch hook of our house’s old telephone back when i was a kid. I found it quite wonderful that by tapping the hook (some kind of Morse Code), i could dial a number and even connect to another household. *how cool is that! I guess i was overdosed with Nancy Drew and Sherlock Holmes. Forgive me, but that was the time when roaming around my tiny house were somewhat of an adventure.

Be my hero and master this!

Or maybe MCA really have a guide book on Morse. So if they happen to stumble across some whistle blowing damsel in distress, they would stop and take out the handy mini morse (no pun intended) and check whether she need resuscitation or just a tow truck?

Better still, this one even has an option for sound play so you could listen to your sentence in basic Morse. CLICK HERE. It gets really tricky to follow. The key is speed!

Woo hoo! Another discovery worth a Champaign or two *wakaka

Try to figure out what i’m saying here:
