I Cannot Stand

… people who don’t wont’ decide what movies to watch before going to the ticket counter. It really annoys me especially when the queue is so long and i waited almost an hour lining up.

Why can’t these people be more considerate?? Deciding what to watch before going to the cinema very difficult is it? Even if not, then deciding while you’re queuing up, before it’s your turn at the ticket counter would cause you brain damage is it?!

Why is it that you find it ok making a long discussion at the counter on what movies to watch which blardy seats to take and which of you is to pay… when everybody behind you is staring at you vividly imagining the many ways to drown you. Wtf.

By the way, Night at the Museum 2 was so lame. No review on that coz it was disappointing.

And So, it was Angels & Demons

And So, it was Angels & Demons

So, another outdated post again.

So, finally there are some movies worth watching on the cinema again. Thank god! It’s like seasonal isn’t it? There’s a season of really bad movies and then there’s the season (now) where all the exciting movies will play back-to-back on screen. Go figure. I shall think that the next few weeks will be spent haunting the cineplex. Wtf i have no life.

So, last weekend we managed to grab tickets for Angels & Demons which was a miracle because KidCheng reserved 4 tickets for us via online but she forgot to pick the seats… yeah like wtf right? Who would go through the trouble booking a ticket but not pick the seats right?

So, instead of going all the way to the cineplex and ending up seating on the front row (trust me, i’ve been there and it was awful), and because i’m really smart, i sent KidCheng and McBun all the way there to check first. Ah ha! I told you i’m smart right?! And because i’ve got brains (don’t roll your eyes, i could go on forever), we got to select really good seats. The cinema was really crowded you know.

So, Angels & Demons was awesome… ok, not really that awesome coz i think the book is way much better. I’m a Dan Brown fan – i read all his books ok. His a genius. I wish i could come up with twists and turns in a story like him. Anyway, A&D was much, much better than Da Vinci Code. I read the book ages ago and i kind of only remember only bits and pieces of the story which is a good thing coz the expectation is less. But the movie would have been better if it focused more on the torturing of the 4 preferatis as in the book. The torturing scene should have gotten more on-screen time. It would have made a bigger impact don’t you agree? I am a sadist. I love horror. Wtf.

Nah, the summary:-

Despite his notorious relationship with the Church, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is once again called upon to decipher the clues to a catastrophic conspiracy. The Pope has died, and before conclave can begin to determine his successor, the four preferitti (primary hopefuls for the papacy) are kidnapped. An ominous threat of their hourly demise, along with the complete annihilation of Vatican City, is issued as an elaborate revenge scheme for a persecuted group known as the Illuminati. With their meager time limit steadily counting down, Langdon, accompanied by beautiful physicist Vittoria Vetra, must travel throughout Rome to unravel the carefully hidden signs that will lead them to a terrifying adversary, a harrowing discovery, and the shocking truth.

So, like what i told everyone who watched Da Vinci Code, Tom Hanks so doesn’t look like a Professor Langdon. I always envisioned Professor Langdon looking more like the Aragorn guy in Lord of the Ring… what’s his name again? Yes, Viggo Mortensen. He’ll make a more convincing professor. Handsome too :P.

Come on, who would you choose?

So, Ewan McGregor really shouldn’t act. Unless it’s a comedy. He is so unconvincing as the Camerlengo ok. Everyone could have guessed he was the villain even from the beginning. Omg, i can’t forget the scene where he framed Commander Richter and branded his own hairy chest with the burning iron. It was so fake i couldn’t help laughing in the cinema. Mcgregor should stick to road trips and travel writing.

So, i am like so in love with Pierfrancesco Favino (Inspector Olivetti in A&D). I was like “Shit! Why he get killed so fast?!!!” when he got shot. Italian guys are so dreamy. Geez… which reminds me of the Italian couple that went tracking with us at Chiang Mai. The guy was so… *drool*.

So, if i’m a lesbian i would express my undying love to Ayelet Zurer. She’s so gorgeous. Lucky Tom Hanks. But i’m not a lesbian, so i’ll just stay contented being envious of her gorgeousness. I can’t believe she’s 40! I wanna look like that when i hit 40.

These should go on my wall for inspiration. LOL.

Landmark Theatre

So, Angels & Demons is an enjoyable thriller.
So, go watch it if you haven’t.
So, now there’s Night at the Museum 2, Alien Vs. Monster, Terminator (i just want to watch Christian Bale ok), Transformer, Harry Porter and i forgot what to look forward to. I think i’ll go rent a camping spot at the cineplex.

Get Smart, Nanny but mostly Wanted

Still have not watch Kung Fu Panda. Gawd it’s so difficult when everyone else too wants to watch the chubby panda doing the kung fu dance. Come on, move over and let me get a peek eye. It better still be on cinema this coming weekend. I hate reserving tickets.

Here are the movies i ended up watching. Beware this is a long one.

Get Smart

It’s a film adaptation of a 1960s spy parody TV series by the same name. Anne Hathaway is hot. Not the conventional beauty but she’s hot. Love her. Hate Steve Carell. He’s like an annoying bug i wish he’d get squashed.

Get Smart

The movie is not so bad if you can numb your brain circuit a little. The movie tagline “Saving The World. And Loving It” is perfect coz both secret agents (Hathaway and Carell) seems to be enjoying their mission immensely despite the idiotic ridiculous dangers involved.

By the way, i’m beginning to really appreciate Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock.

Nanny Diaries

The Nanny Diaries

Scarlett Johansson is so meaty chubby in the movie. She plays the nanny to a small boy from an elite family. The story tells of her everyday disaster being a nanny. She’s great but the movie is so miserably dull and boring. I almost walked out after the first half of the show.

Wanted

Wow! This is one complicated movie. Not because of the plot but because i have mix feelings about this show.

Wanted

First of all, i love watching James McAvoy ever since i’ve watched Atonement. He’s the lead in Wanted and that’s the reason i bought the tickets. I was a little confused because in Atonement, he had a very heavy Scottish accent but in Wanted he’s all American. He, by the way is from Glasgow, Scotland.

Mr. Tumnus

If you didn’t know he is also Mr. Tumnus in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. *way cool!

Note to myself: To dig out ALL of James McAvoy’s movies.

Wanted tells a tale of Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy), an accountant living a boring humdrum life and everyone loves to bully him because he’s weak. He suffers from severe anxiety attacks. I’m not going to spoil it for you so all i’ll say is Wesley later met with Fox (Angelina Jolie) and later in turn of events he turned into an A class assassin.

The cinematography is something different. The camera wizardry is wonderful. Bravo! I think i had anxiety attack watching Wesley (McAvoy) having his anxiety episodes. It made me really dizzy on the first quarter of the show. And who would have thought that a curved bullet would look that good on the screen.

Foxy lady

However the story line is unbelievable and really… erm… cheesy and… erm… if i may, stupid. Angelina Jolie is… well… Angelina Jolie. She’s the hot wall flower. I think her lines were not more than 20 in the movie. All she did was play demure, pout and raise her eyebrows. McAvoy on the other hand gave a blardy good performance. He surprisingly kicks arse in action movies. Loved the scene where he burst into the Fraternity G.I Joe-mode with 2 guns in is hands.

Kick arse

Nevertheless, it’s worth a watch coz the movie have some darn memorable lines. You’ve got to watch it to know what i mean. I think you’ll love the part where he told his woman boss to f*ck herself. And oh, you’ve got to watch out for the closing speech by Wesley (McAvoy). Something that goes like “I took control of my life… what did you do?”. It’s definitely a wake up call.
