Went all the way to Klang last night to attend a friend’s wedding. I’ve known her since college years and am really happy that she found her perfect gentleman. To the lovely couple, “Congratulations and may you guys have a blessed and loving life together!”
Taken at her R.O.M.
Taken during the wedding reception in Klang.

Regrettably we didn’t snap much photo with our cameras but Ai Leng looked stunningly gorgeous especially in the cheongsam styled gown. Envy!
Dear baby munchkin had his hair shaved already. Rahul looks really good bald, don’t you think?
Before.
After.
It’s a Chinese tradition as well as Indian to shave the baby’s head on or after the full moon. For the Chinese it signifies the shedding of birth hair (hair from the womb). The hair is then wrapped in a piece of red cloth and then sewed on the pillow to calm the baby. The later is rarely practiced today, although most baby still have their baby shaved because it’s common believe that the hair will grow more healthy and luscious after that.
Hindu tradition on the other hand dictates that shaving of the hair (during Mundana) signifies freedom from the undesirable past and moving into the bright future as well as stimulates proper growth of the brain and nerves.
Does the Malays and Western culture have such beliefs?
That’s it; cutie pie Rahul is officially 1 month old! He is getting more and more adorable! I take back my words about babies being boring, he is just too cute!
That’s his mommy feeding the greedy boy. LOL
Full moon was spent playing with the baby and non-stop snapping photos of him. When he smiles, it lights up the room :)).
We didn’t have the traditional Chinese full moon celebration. It was just a quiet affair within our family.
Oh he have such beautiful dark luscious hair now, i’m so envious of my nephew.
I just realized that i don’t have photos of Rahul with his daddy because he was at work :(.
Mom and dad were really happy. Rahul loves it when dad carries him. Kept smiling and giggling.
A complete opposite when i’m trying to take a photo with him. Look at his disgusted face! Sigh…
3rd ah yee carrying him here.
Oh ain’t he the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen?!
Which is the reason why we can’t help dotting on him.
Full moon pressies from us. The super cute crocodile body suit is from grandma!
I made the traditional red eggs for Rahul’s full moon. My very first attempt and i’m proud that it turned out pretty well.
Here’s how to make red eggs:
1) Put eggs into a pot of water on the stove. Make sure that the heat is at the lowest else the eggs will crack and the coloring will be all over the eggs later.
2) Add a tsp of salt and 2 tsp of vinegar for easy absorption of red dye later.
3) Let it simmer for around 25 to 30 mins.
4) Prepare a bowl with red dye (you can easily purchase the red dye from supermarket – those used for baking will do).
5) Do not dilute the dye with water.
6) Remove the pot and pour the hot water away but do NOT run cold water on the eggs.
7) Put the egg into the bowl with the red dye and cover the entire egg with dye (use glove to avoid staining the hand or use spoon to twirl). Repeat for all the remaining eggs.
8) Leave the eggs to cool before washing the eggs to remove excessive dye.
Our anniversary falls on 11th July but lately i’ve been too angsty (bloody hell i’m even losing sleep about i don’t know what) to blog about it. Everything that could go wrong seems to go wrong at the same time. In addition we’ve been too occupied with #bersihstories more than anything else.
It’s our 5th anniversary together. Times does goes by very quickly when you are an adult huh?!
A very Happy Anniversary to us! It’s been a hell of a 5 years together.
Here’s a really blur photo of us at our favorite Japanese Restaurant in town, Coco Tei.
Ok, the photo very epic fail because 1) i was sick and bloated so i look like i’m a pale preggie woman or something and 2) my arms weren’t long enough… and shaky coz the food haven’t arrive aha!
But the food was awesome and we had a great evening there even though the boyfriend could be such an unromantic prick. I’m a whole lot of glad Coco Tei (previously Hajime) is back. Where else are we going to satisfy our Japanese food cravings?!
I prepared a post for our 5th celebration that goes something like…
1) When i found an interesting read on the newspaper, i think of you cos i know you’ll be interested too.
2) When i read saddening stories on the newspaper, i think of you cos i know you’ll feel the same yet tries to comfort me.
3) When i go groceries shopping, i think of you. I bet he’ll want some cold drinks this weekend.
4) When i taste delicious cake, i think of the time we had the most awesome Tiramisu cake from Equatorial.
5) When a motorcyclist ride pass me, i think of you warning me to be careful on the streets.
6) When i see a puppy, i think of you and remember how much you love fat puppies.
7) When i see a bottle of olive oil, i think of the time i cooked Aglio Olio and you loved it even though i think it’s yucky!
8) When i feel dreamy and stare at the bright light from the lamp post while you drive, i’m reminded of the time i cried so hard til i look like a mess because i was so relieved i resigned from the job and you were there offering me your shoulder.
9) When i look at Kobe, i think of you and think of how much Kobe loves you.
10) When i stumble upon Air Asia’s advertisement, i’m reminded of our travels.
… but i have to stop myself because i’m really having goosebumps writing these lovey dovey stuff. Uwek!
Oh yeah, when i feel grossed out for writing mushy stuffs, i think of you because i know you’ll feel the same way too!
I can’t believe another year had gone by and my doggies are one year older already. In this case it’s 7 dog years older which means Kobe and Doodle are 21 and Pou Pou is 28 today!
This calls for a celebration! On CNY some more!
No thanks to the elder sister aka the party-pooper whom agreed to bake a cake for the celebration but on last minute cancelled on us. It was good that dad was in a good mood so he suggested us tapao 3 char siu pao from the dim sum restaurant that we were having breakfast at in the morning :).
That’s how we ended up like silly (more like insane) women lighting candles on the buns and singing to our dogs. Yes, we very syiok sendiri wan. So what do you care?
Look at the big baby staring at the char siu pao! She started to drool right after we snap this photo LOL. Happy 3rd Birthday Kobe! Jie Jie love you!
Here’s Doodle getting impatient with our singing and started licking the bun even before we helped her blow the candles. Happy Birthday cute Doodle! Muacks!
And lastly, Pou Pou also staring at the bun but more scared than tempted haha. She’s so timid i think we gave her a scare with our bad rendition of Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday snow white!
Ah, as you can see our dogs can’t celebrate together because if they do they’ll yelp and growl at each other. Damn jealous geh -_-”
Yo! Tomorrow is a public holiday coz it’s Deepavali. Yes! Yay! I’m happy coz i get some rest finally.
To all celebrating, i wish you a very Happy Diwali! To those not celebrating… well everyone is celebrating aren’t they – for the day off, so enjoy your long weekend people!
In the festive mood of the Indian celebration, here’s a photo of my sis in a gorgeous sari (saree) and the latest addtion to my family – new brother in law :)
Don’t you love the Indian costume? It’s so elegantly sexy and slimming. I was supposed to have one tailored for the reception at the groom’s hometown but i was pissed off at the sister for being 4 hours late so i didn’t go to Brickfields as planned. Darn it, now i am full of regrets.
