The Handsome Boy is Actually a Girl

Once upon a time i used to be hooked on Stephen Chow‘s movies. However, it doesn’t appeal to me as much now. He’s exaggerating comedy is getting pretty routine… to me at least… uhm… i know a whole bunch of people still laugh like kena asthma watching his comedic stunts. I however, don’t get it anymore.

Now lets sidetrack a lil bit.

What caught my attention was the supporting cast (anyone other than Stephen, i call supporting cast). The small boy in the movie playing the character Dicky. When i first saw the trailer, i was thinking what a cute and good looking that young boy was. Look, i’m not a a pervert preying on young kids nor am i a gold fish auntie. To make things clear, i am also not thinking about my biological clock. I just have a thing for good looking kids. Good looking kids just makes me feel warm and fuzzy that’s all.

Anyways, this boy hor… this handsome boy… this adorable hansome boy i wanted to kidnap and matchmake with my future daughter hor… is a girl! -_-” I thought someone was pulling my leg when i was told he’s actually a SHE. I know i’m so outdated but i almost fell out of my bed when i saw the list of cast online just now.

Why the hell take a girl to play a boy? No male out there ar?… Which part of this 9 year old resembles a girl? I don’t see any.

Search Stopped

The search is over. Mug Mug is gone for good… I guess dog owners would understand how heartbroken i am right now.

On the next day that she went missing, EatAllYouCanShung drove all the way to Setapak area to visit the Pusat Kurungan Haiwan. Mug Mug wasn’t there. However, the security guard was kind enough to ask him to return again because the dogs caught might arrive few days later.

On Saturday, KidCheng and BlurryHunniee went to the Majlis Perbandaran Selayang (MPS) for a look. I did not go but the told me about the horrible and sad condition of the dog pound. There were 4 big cages in all. 3 of then were full. There were no concrete floors. Just sand. The dogs were cramped up in those cages. Just standing with no place to move or to sleep at all. All the dogs looked wary and tired *you try standing the whole day and night and see if you’re tired or not?. There were dog wastes everywhere inside the cages. There were also dead dogs amongst the live ones. Some of the remains still wet and fresh and some already dry with infesting maggots. No one bothered to clean the cages. I don’t think the dogs were fed either. I cried when they told me about the bad situation. At the same time, i was thankful that Mug Mug wasn’t at that awful dog pound and i was all fired to lodge a complaint to the SPCA the next day.

The next day, we went to SPCA Ampang. Our last hope. There we met an angry middle age lady.

SPCA lady: What are you looking for?
KidCheng: We lost out dog… we’re just looking if she’s here…
SPCA lady: It won’t be here… Where did you lose it?
Me: Kepong are. We’ve tried DBKL and also MPS. She’s not there. So, we’re trying here coz they told us it might be sent here.
*At this point the lady was a little angry and frustrated*
SPCA lady: How can you lost your dog??!!! With or without a collar and license, you’re not supposed to let it out of your sight! You better check at the office. Nowadays, dogs are put to sleep here immediately on the same day they were caught!

My heart stopped… We ran to the admin office but were told that Mug Mug wasn’t in the SPCA list. Thank god. However, it is sad to learn that dogs without collar are killed immediately while those with collars will be put to sleep after 1 week.

I told the lady about the situation in MPS. She just shrugged and said that there’s nothing they can do… There are too many stray dogs around. It was then that i realized why the dogs in Selayang were in such a pity condition. They were just round up to be killed. Just bidding their time. I felt a sick to the stomach.

We cried the whole way back. My only consolation is that Mug Mug wasn’t caught by the dog catcher. I think she was kidnapped. I hope the new owner will take good care of her.

I’ve learnt my lesson the hard way. I hope everyone else will keep good care of their pet. Here’s some tip/info i’d found out.

1) Dogs with or without collar and license will be caught if found wondering without the owner.
2) Leash your dog (puppy included) if they are out of sight. It might have squeezed out of your gate.
3) Do a thorough search around your neighborhood. Keep calling his/her name. Look under cars and trees. Look inside residence house. It might be taken by some resident.
4) Visit your town council’s dog pound on the same day. Do not delay. Remember, dogs are put to sleep immediately.
5) If the dog are indeed in the dog pound, a RM300 fine will be given to the owner before redemption.
6) Put up poster of the missing dog around the vicinity. Ensure that all details are not omitted. Describe the dog’s special markings (if any), i.e. black spot at the left side or chipped tail or etc.

I Miss Mug Mug Alot Alot and Alot

EatAllYouCanShung went to the Setapak DBKL dog pound yesterday but Mug Mug wasn’t there. The security guard told him that if the dog was captured by DBKL unit then it’ll be there. If it was captured by contractors then it might be there today or might be sent to Majlis Perbandaran Selayang or SPCA Ampang. I can’t be sure that she was caught by the dog catcher unit but it’s my only hope. I hope she’s still there by the time we get there.

When i’ve heard of how attached an owner is to his/her pet especially a dog, i kinda of agreed but didn’t quite understand… Maybe because i have never had a pet for more than few days.

A hamster appeared in my garden out of nowhere when i was in primary school. It had a chipped ear. It was adorable. We kept it as a pet since we the owner never came to redeemed it. Within few days, SpinsterAunt‘s cat somehow opened the cage and had the hamster for lunch. We were shocked but not devastated. *hey we didn’t even get a chance to name it :S

During my years in secondary school, we had a class pet. A real class pet i mean. Few adorable tortoises that we kept on top of the class drawer in front of the class. When school holiday arrived, we would take turn to take back a tortoise. I took back one that was blind in one eye. *i have a thing for flawed animals. After a day or two MachoDad complained that it stank and threatened to flush it down the toilet. So, i handed it to a friend to take care. I didn’t mind at all at that time.

However, i had always loved dogs. I had always wanted a dog as a pet. That came true when Mug Mug strayed into our house last December. I was surprised but ecstatic that MachoDad agreed for us to keep her coz he disagreed each time we tried to take in the dogs that strayed into our house previously. I guess that there must be something about this particular puppy that won my dad over. It must be magic.

We named her Mug Mug.

MommyTeddy who at first hated anything that had to do with Mug Mug, grew to love her. Feeding her and playing with her when she thought no one was watching. My whole family grew to love her.

Now that she’s missing, i can’t help but cry everytime i think of her or everytime i saw her photos. I missed her fat body rolling on the grass. I miss her running home when she saw us or when we call out to her. I miss her playful nature always biting the broom when i sweep. I miss her greedy character always wanted some snacks. I miss feeding her medicine for her skin disease.

Mug Mug is Missing

I woke up quite early this morning. I was suppose to have a good rest today. However, i was restless the whole night. Tossing and turning. I had a weird dream that i couldn’t remember after i was up. However i remember that somehow Mug Mug was in my dream.

I step out of my room, on my way to the bathroom when i bumped into MachoDad. Mug Mug is missing. MachoDad already searched the whole neighborhood but no sign of her. She’s still a puppy and doesn’t have a registered license. She could have squeezed out of the gate and wonder off on the street.

I woke KidCheng up and both of us frantically went out for a second search. Calling and whistling. She haven’t even had her breakfast… MachoDad told us he say some dog catcher nearby the other day. I am so afraid she had been caught.
