Buying Your Dream House

I don’t know how people do it. Purchasing a new property i mean.

How do people get a new house and still have money to dine at expensive restaurants, join in the mega sale frenzy, change mobile phones like changing undies and on top of that have the luxury to travel whole year round.

It sounds impossible but i see and hear people around me proving me wrong.

How do you do it?? Please tell me the secret! Pretty please, with a big lump of Royce chocolate on top?

We have not even begun looking for a house and yet thinking about buying one already made us live like paupers.

Like,

1) We no longer go out for movies in the weekend. Instead we buy illegal pirated DVDs and watch it at home instead. (Of course with a 42″ plasma we recently bought for a extremely good “discount” makes it less pathetic).

2) We no longer dine out during the weekend. Well, sometimes but maybe once or twice a month. Instead we tuck our dignities under the couch and be content taking on the parasite role dining at my mother’s place else we cook our rather miserly dinner at home.

3) Shopping is a rare treat nowadays. We even shunt sales, opting to pamper ourselves with just one item per month… errr… mostly the one item is my stuff lar because he’s sweet like that to sacrifice his share :P.

4) Buying skin care samples online instead of from the mall and feeling surprisingly happy about it. It’s really cost saving and you get the same thing with a lower price!

5) Auctioning used or un-used items (clothes, skin care, handbags, etc) online.

6) We dig into the big bottle of coins we used to stash extra change to buy snacks and pay for small stuff instead of just chucking it in the bottle or on top of the coffee table where it’ll go missing and forgotten.

After all these, i’m still thinking of ways to save more money for future down payment and renovation. So, tell me how do people do it?

.
.
.

How’s the World Cup doing? I have no idea. Right now, i’m just grinning to myself and chuckling because it annoys people that i always support the less popular teams in matches. It doesn’t matter that i don’t even know what’s going on. It’s just funny.

Stressful Week

Someday i’ll have to learn to keep my big mouth shut for my own benefits.
Someday i’ll have to accept when my views and and opinions are not valued even if i’ve been asked to give one.
Someday i’ll have to stop caring so much and learn not to be affected by people’s criticism.

It all ends up with me treating myself better and holding myself like a sponge – absorb the positive and squeeze out the negative, ain’t it?

Ok, you won’t understand what i’m rattling about. But there are alot of stuff going on in my life that has left me very anxious, worried and stressful at the moment. It’s been days of insomnia again. Sigh… Year of Tiger come on, give me a break! But i digress. I’ll leave that part of the information out for the time being, maybe till the end of the week.

Speaking of stressful stuffs, i heard few more churches was attacked making a total of 8 churches now. Outrageous if you ask me. I’m an Atheist (free thinker) myself but that doesn’t mean i disrespect people that holds to their religion. Attacking a religious house is really out of bounds and all over a stupid issue. It’s a disgrace that there are Malaysians that could stoop so low.

Burnt

Have you heard about the arson attacks on 3 churches in Klang Valley? No doubt over the latest and much conflicted dispute on the use of the word ”Allah” by non-Muslims.

Sigh… what the hell is wrong with these people??!!!

Here (taken from http://www.nytimes.com/).

3 Malaysian Churches Attacked in ‘Allah’ Dispute

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Assailants attacked three Malaysian churches with firebombs Friday, extensively damaging one amid a growing conflict over the use of the word ”Allah” by non-Muslims, officials said.

The attacks sharply escalated tensions in the Muslim-majority country ahead of planned protests by Muslims later Friday against a Kuala Lumpur High Court verdict which struck down a 3-year-old ban on non-Muslims using ”Allah” in their literature.

”I condemn these actions because they will destroy our country’s harmony,” Prime Minister Najib Razak told reporters. ”The government will take whatever steps it can to prevent such acts.”

Najib said he has told the national police chief to step up security at churches and other places of worship.

The Dec. 31 court decision incensed many Muslims, who see it as a threat to their religion. Hateful comments and threats against Christians have been posted widely on the Internet, but this is the first time the controversy has turned destructive.

The ruling was on a petition by Malaysia’s Roman Catholic Church, whose main publication, the Herald, uses the word Allah in its Malay-language edition.

The first-floor office in the three-story Metro Tabernacle Church was destroyed in a blaze a little after midnight, said Kevin Ang, a spokesman for the Protestant church. The worship areas on the upper two floors were undamaged and there were no injuries.

Kuala Lumpur police Chief Mohamad Sabtu Osman told The Associated Press that a witness saw four people on two motorcycles breaking the glass front of the church and throwing an incendiary object inside before fleeing.

He said police found a wrench, an empty gasoline can and two scorched motorcycle helmets at the scene. The church occupies a corner plot in a row of shops in Desa Melawati, a suburb of Kuala Lumpur.

”We are still investigating,” he said. He also urged Muslims not to participate in the planned protests.

Separately, Molotov cocktails were thrown into the compounds of two other churches before dawn, causing minor damage in one and none in the other, church officials said.

The Rev. Lawrence Andrew, the editor of the Herald, said many churches have employed extra security guards. ”Most churches are taking precautions. They are aware it may just blow up,” he said.

The government has appealed the court verdict and the High Court has suspended its decision’s implementation until the appeal is heard.

Muslims argue that ”Allah” is exclusive to Islam, and its use by Christians would confuse Muslims and tempt them to convert to Christianity.

About 60 percent of Malaysia’s 28 million people are Malay Muslims, while the rest are ethnic Chinese, Indians and indigenous tribes. The minorities follow Christianity, Hinduism and other religions.

The Malay-speaking indigenous tribespeople, living in remote states of Sabah and Sarawak, are the main readers of the Herald’s Malay-language edition. Catholic officials say ”Allah” is the only word they know for God.

Many Muslims in Malaysia have refused to accept the argument that ”Allah” is an Arabic word that predates Islam, and that it is used by Christians in countries such as Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Indonesia regularly in their worship.

The backlash against the court verdict has reinforced complaints by minorities that they face institutional discrimination by the government.

On Thursday, the Malaysian judiciary’s Web site was hacked and defaced with an apparent threat to Christians, The Star newspaper reported. The site, however, appeared to be normal on Friday.

The Star said the hacker, using the alias ”Brainwash,” defaced the site with a banner saying: ”Mess with the best, die like the rest” and ”Allah only restricted to Muslim only.”

Sin City

What do you think of the idea of getting married just to have sex?

It’s crazy right? But i know lots of people who did that. The marriage ended up in divorce within months but they knew that would happen and didn’t care. They just want to “do it” so they tied the knot.

I think it’s really wrong. Not so much that they are actually insulting the idea of marriage but because of their beliefs and thinking. To them it’s legal, it’s acceptable and religion wise it’s not wrong.

They think it’s sinful to commit sex before marriage because religion forbids it but they think it’s ok to get married not for love but just for sex. Why? Because religion says it’s ok to do sex after marriage.

Kids nowadays have the guts to run to Thailand to get married so they can have sex legally without being caught by JAWI and most important, because “doing it” without getting married will piss the lord. I’m stunned.

Which is worst? Get married to have sex then get a divorce after a few months or accidentally impregnate someone then get married because it doesn’t hurt to get free sex then get divorce after a few months? Speechless.

Warehouse Caught Fire in Kepong

This is me being a busybody but apparently i’m not the nosiest people around because there are throngs of people already there watching the fire. At least i didn’t purposely go there to 8. I just happened to be on my way home.

fire1
From Desa Park

The smoke was so thick and black, we saw it from Desa Park City and Mr. Bf’s boss saw it from Jalan Tun Razak.

I’m getting nearer

Warehouse on fire – next to Giamax

If it wasn’t for the super thick smoke coming from the warehouse, i would have thought that the circus had come to Kepong because there were laughter and smiles plastered on the “spectators” face as if they were watching an acrobat show at the carnival.

Carnival

And there were more people coming towards the scene, some were couples holding hands, some the whole family like on a family trip and even foreign workers with obvious excitement came to watch the ‘show’. The crowd plus those who drove all the way there caused a massive jam.

Fire

I’ve never seen a fire before so i wasted no time to pull out my camera and recorded the scene while admiring how beautiful the black smoke was, it was like a volcano had erupted. Ok, that’s really bad of me. Shame on me!

Well, it took the firemen (there were like 3 or 5 firetrucks on the scene) not very long to put the fire off. i can’t imagine with the fasting month now how they would have the energy to hose down the fire. They were still there this morning checking up on things at the warehouse.

Arthur’s Day

Arthur's Day

It’s bad enough that the Black Eyed Peas concert in conjunction of Arthur’s Day does not allow Muslims but Arthur’s Day without alcohol??!

Ridiculous!

That’s like having chocolate mousse cake without the chocolate.

So they are going to sell Peel Fresh at the Guinness celebration is it? “An orange toast to Arthur! 250th year, aye aye! Oh look nutritious orange pulps!”. *groan*

And what is the point of the “no bitter sweet brew” rule when only non-Muslims are allowed to attend? Ain’t that contractictive?

There people have no logic, no logic at all.
