Off With Her Head!!!!!

Off With Her Head!!!!!

I’ve watched Alice In Wonderland! Yes! Yes!

That’s like one of my new year resolution achieved! *grins in satisfaction*

Well you know how it is. It’s kind of is like those unwritten new year resolutions you keep repeating to yourself but deem not significant enough (unlike safe the whales or be a millionaire) to put to the list.

Making mental note to watch Ironman 2 in May. Anticipate!>o<

Anyhow, i totally adore Alice in Wonderland. Tim Burton outdone himself once again.

I knew that Burton’s version of Alice diverts from the original children story. Anyone who saw the movie trailer knew to expect a deeper and darker side of the fairytale – the trailer was a little creepy to tell the truth. i had very high expectations when i went to the cinema that day.

But i came out with a happy smile on my face :)).

Not only was the CGI fantastic – i watched it in 2D coz i get nauseous with 3D (totally adore the dark but strikingly colorful tone of the movie), the casts gave a flawless performance.

Was a little disappointed with Johnny Depp though – not for his performance which to me could go no wrong but for the character he was playing, the Mad Hatter.

In this version of Alice, Hatter was far too emotional and desperate, a big contrast to the original happy and bonkers Hatter. At the end of the movie, Hatter did his famous Futterwacken dance which i deem corny and a waste of movie frame.

Other than that, Mia Wasikowska played Alice to perfection. An actress i’m definitely going to watch out for in the future.

She and Helena Bonham Carter who played the Red Queen stole the show.

red-queen

Needless to say the Red Queen is my fav character. Carter makes a very, very convincing queen. She was made to play the tantrum-throwing-big-headed-queen.

I just can’t get the scene when the queen goes “I need a pig here!” and a live pig slid under her feet out of my mind. LOL!

Brilliant!

From Paris With Love

From Paris With Love

I don’t know what to make of this movie. Seriously.

from-paris-with-love

The whole time i was watching i was thinking “Is this a comedy??” then i was like “Oh, i don’t think it’s a comedy… it’s an action movie for sure”, then “No, i think it’s a comedy + action movie” and i was back to “Comedy, definitely”.

What did the critics said about this movie anyways. I’m pretty sure it’s in the “thriller/action” genre.

John Travolta was dead annoying even for me who is a fan of him. The story line is ridiculous and so is most of the scene in the movie.

The only compensation and the only thing that kept me from falling asleep is Jonathan Rhys Meyers looking darn good parading in tailored suits throughout entire movie. One have a feeling that the movie is more like a commercial for men’s apparel LOL.

Not really a good idea to watch if you’re not a Travolta fan.

May the Force be With Yiuuuu

May the Force be With Yiuuuu

Did you read the news about the 7 year old boy who called 911 and saved the whole family from attackers? At the age of 7 he had the right mind to grab his sister and dialled 911 from the bathroom. That’s like wow!

I vaguely remember what i was like at 7. I didn’t even know what’s the emergency number back then. At that age, i only knew 799 2525 by heart. That’s for Pizza Hut delivery haha!

Remember the song “755 2525, 799 2525, 7992525, special delivery!”? Well, yeah i think i tried dialing that number to reach the police which really bugged the hell out of the operator.

Then when i’m 8 or 9 i think i dialled 999 just for the kicks of it. Ok, come on don’t judge me, i was young and seriously don’t tell me you haven’t made prank calls before. Seriously, no? Your childhood sucks :P.

By the way, the boyfriend sent me this yesterday. Really made my day.

Well it’s a little disappointing because the rest is not as cute as the Big Bird and Cookie Monster doodle on the first 2 days.

But still it’s Sesame Streets you know… i watched them in the morning as a kid even though Big Bird and Elmo annoys me like hell and when mom wasn’t watching i sang to the muppets songs. LOL.

Sesame’s Street 40th Anniversary

Sesame's Street 40th Anniversary

Oh oh! The Cookie Monster Google doodle (sounds so cute) was for Sesame’s Street 40th Anniversary which is coming on the 10th November. Each day they will have different Sesame Street’s muppets on the search page.

The first was Big Bird which i missed. So sad! I didn’t know since i’m using Google Chrome now so i don’t go to Google search anymore.
