After a long, long hiatus i’m back for a short post. I think i lost my blogging mojo. I think i lost my mojo period. I hope i’ll find it back soon because the cob webs here is in need of a good cleaning.
By the way, today is Valentine’s Day. So i’m wishing everyone a nice and sweet Valentine’s Day. I’ll be spending the day like usual because Valentine’s Day is our Black Friday. Yeah pretty mundane.
You know yesterday while i was taking Kobe for a walk at the park, i saw a teenage boy holding a single stalk of rose, walking very fast and smiling serenely to himself. No doubt he was heading towards his girlfriend or future-girlfriend’s place to deliver his token of love. It was really sweet. Teenage love is so innocent and is always the sweetest.
I miss those days :)
And speaking of V-Day, there’s some hilarious memes circulating on facebook. Uber funny!
LMAO! Love it especially the #foreveralone meme. Had me in stitches!
Age is a funny thing. When we are young we couldn’t wait to grow up so we could finally wear beautiful clothes and try on make-ups or finally get to drive and drink legally; basically everything fun but we are not old enough to do at that time. Then puberty comes and this time we couldn’t wait to be an adult so we could make and spend our own money and have the freedom to do whatever we please. Adulthood hits us in a blink of an eye and it was great while it lasted.
But by the time we hit 30 we wish we could turn back time. Women fret about wrinkles, dark eye circle and flabbiness. Men worries about the spare tire or beer belly from lack of exercise and too much alcohol. One thing both sex have in common when it comes to aging is gray hair.
Gray hair makes you age by a decade which is why there are so many hair-dye products on the shelves for sale. Everyone wants to look younger and the fastest and easiest solution is hair coloring. However, hair color fades quickly and it dries and damages the hair. Coloring your hair too often is not really a good idea.
Here’s an alternative solution for a thought.
There are gray hair pills in the market that contains catalase. Catalase plays a vital role in the graying process of the hair. According to research, low levels of catalase in our body cause hydrogen peroxide that is produced by the body unable to be broken down. Hence the hair is bleached inside out.
Catalase supplements are recommended to stimulate and reactivate hair pigments to restore gray hair to its original color. Perhaps this is a miracle worker for aging people and younger people with pre-mature graying hair. If it works, it sure beats coloring the hair every few months or so.
2012 had barely started but i’m already having a roller coaster hell of a ride.
My dogs aren’t having better luck either. Kobe and Pou Pou got into a fight on Saturday… most probably over the postmen; i’m not sure since i wasn’t home. Unfortunately Pou Pou was tied to the gate to dry after her bath so she couldn’t defend herself. She’s got bitten badly and when i came home she looked so battered my heart sank.
Rushed her to the nearby vet and got her wounds cleaned and dressed. 5 pretty deep puncture wounds and i think around 5 more abrasion wounds. She was shivering all over. The vet gave her painkillers.
Kobe got scolded really bad and was depressed the entire day. It was only at night that i realized Kobe was also wounded and she sprained her leg. That made me guilty as hell.
Now they are best of friends again. I guess dogs are more forgiving than men.
House hunting is a massive headache. There are just too many factors to consider i.e. the price, the location, the environment, the neighbor, etc. But once you’ve finally made your choice and made down payment, there is another big step to take – scrutinize the current house plan.
It is the same if you plan to customize your house; the most fundamental thing is to come up with the perfect contemporary house plans. After all, a house is your home and you would want the most suitable and comfortable environment to live in.
A lengthy but worthy research is in-stored. Identify your requirement and your lifestyle and come out with a draft version of what you want your floor plan to look like. There are many company offering house plan design services out there; be it a 3 bedroom house plans or a house plan for a mansion, if you have figured out the basic idea of what you need then they are more than happy to extend a hand.
For example – a gorgeous 4 plex house plans like this is not impossible.
It’s completed with double garages, a courtyard area, pantry and dining area at the front with i adore and a utility room. I love that they have a family room which is big enough for some warm family activities.
The “About Me” page on this blog had been blank ever since i started blogging because till now i have not had any inspiration. Today i finally came up with the perfect paragraph to fill it with.
“I am like a Golden Retriever. I am very eager to please which means psychologically i’m never going to get a Goldie; i’m more inclined to having a Bulldog which is completely opposite of my nature. Ironically this also means that besides desperately trying to please everyone around me, i also have to please my dog.”
Have you ever felt so tired of life you just want to curl up in bed and never ever wake up? Ok, thats how i am feeling right now only it’s 10 times worse. It’s not PMS talking here, perhaps it’s the meds i’m taking.
Life is a constant eshaustion, worries and arguments for me. It scares me when my nights are haunted by dreams of myself jumping off some random buildings. A different one each night but i jumped down everyone of them.
And now this blog is not a place for me to rant anymore.
My first contact with Tintin was way back in primary school. I was what, perhaps in Standard 4 or 5 when i happened to pick up a crumpled, dog eared comic with colorful pictures. It probably wasn’t in as bad condition as i remembered because you know how memory tends to exaggerate. However it was missing a pages or two and a vintage, made of the old school newsprint instead of the type of glossy paper used in comics today; that i am sure.
At that time my school was having a reading program where a certain time slot is placed before the school assembly started. Everyone must sit on the hall’s floor with a book to read. Well, most of us just opened the text book on our lap and stared into space waiting for the 30 minutes to pass. For those looking for a more creative outlet, in front of the hall next to the piano there was a battered wooden book case that actually flips open like a book. In it were books that had seen better days. That’s where i found my treasure.
I might have mindlessly stashed it in my school bag after the bell rang or i might have stolen it (come on the books in there ends up in the trash sooner or later anyways) but i only recall finding it again back at home. I have faint memories of Egyptian mummies and balls of fire so i’m pretty sure it was Hergé’s The Adventures of Tintin: The Seven Crystal Balls. I read and re-read the thin comic and enjoyed every minute of it even though at that age i didn’t understand the themed political propaganda of Tintin stories.
But soon i found other exciting things to do and i hid it in the back of the drawer and forgot all about it. That’s when i lost my treasure; i never found it again.
That will make it to the “Most regrettable things i’ve done” list because the battered Tintin would be worth a lot now but mostly because it’s one of my favorite comics. Instead i have to settle for the new hardcover collection like everyone else. The story of Tintin with his sidekick, Snowy is the same but somehow the feeling is muted without the newsprint material. Like what the hiking guide keep saying to us in Chiang Mai “Same, same but different”.
Just the same it’s hard not to be excited knowing the movie is screening soon in Malaysia. Watching Tintin and Snowy running around the globe getting into trouble and kicking some bad villain’s arse and Captain Haddock’s totally unorthodox cursing especially “Blue Blistering Barnacles!” is just too fun. It’s like being a kid again.
