CNY Eve Reunion Dinner and the rest of the CNY

CNY Eve Reunion Dinner and the rest of the CNY

I should really shut up about CNY already before someone aims a rotten mandarin orange at me. This is going to be the last CNY related post, i promise :P.

To begin, here’s the youngest sister camwhoring with the oranges.

It feels so good to have privacy and a spacious house to celebrate the eve of CNY. This year we gathered at my sister’s place at Bukit Gasing instead of at home. I just love her place – spacious, cool and peaceful. Ah… not a bad start to the new year!

Oh, that’s me in my brand new pink Mickey T-shirt. LOL.

As usual we had yee sang as appetizer.

How come people always link CNY with money, money and more money? Everyone at the table were yelling “Huat ah!”, “Win lottery ah!”, “Get promotion and big bonus ah!” and the likes. Haha!

Next year i’m going to wish for world peace instead. Yeah right… ok, right after i strike lottery i’ll wish for world peace.

HK made his shop’s signature braised duck and it was the most delicious duck ever. It’s too bad about the incident with his customer. He ended up dividing the whole duck into 2 so our families (his and mine) could share. -_-”

The rest of the food was great! But i ended up over-stuffed and had nightmares of giant prawns chasing me that night.

The rest of the CNY was boring as usual but not so bad because only a few relative came to pay visit. The amount of angpau money i received is so pathetic; i am ashamed to even blog about it.

The food i had during the few days of festivity could actually amount to food i normally take in 6 months. Serious.

The CNY movies on screen were the same old slapstick Hongkie comedies. I didn’t watch any btw coz i really cannot stand Hongkie comedies. Yawn…

Now i’m back to my normal diet (thanks god!) and normal routine (sien!).

So that’s it la. CNY in KL is nothing special. So boring can die.

Merry Christmas and a Ho Ho Ho!

Hectic end of the year.
Sister’s Indian style wedding at Sungai Petani which was super awesome.
Playing Shanghai Mahjong non-stop till the wee hours.
Exercising consistently.
Shopping spree like crazy and spending money like liquid.
Getting ready for sister’s KL reception on the New Year – 1 more week to go.

And now it’s Christmas!

Exhausted.

So, today it’s just me wishing everyone a Merry, merry Christmas with your family and loved ones!

I hope you have been good because Santa always knows. I know the bf had been really hard working this year so is rewarding himself a very well deserved spanking new Nexus phone. As for me? I don’t know… i think i’ve been good… almost LOL.

About CNY

Phew! CNY is almost over but i’m still in a holiday mood. I guess most of us are LOL. It’s really hard to press the power button to my laptop, it seems so long since i typed on the keyboard!

Yesterday was the big day for the Hokkien clan so we took the opportunity to catch Valentine’s Day at Cineleisure. So clever of the boyfriend *Clever boy!*.

The cineplex was quite empty and we got good seats too. Valentine’s Day was surprisingly rather good and enjoyable given that i rarely watch cheesy romantic comedies. Thank god this wasn’t cheesy at all and i laughed throughout the whole movie. Definitely recommended.

As for the CNY this year, i would say that it is one of the enjoyable ones… well it was better than last year anyways. Yes, definitely.

Everyone was was in a super good mood because mom was getting well and we got over the cancer scare. But i suspect mostly it was because we successfully avoided some really nosy good-for-nothing relatives for most days.

What is it with relatives that back stabs you whenever they get the opportunity but comes in throngs to your house during CNY smiling like idiots?? Those relatives, i can live without.

And, and i’ve been only asked once “When are you getting married??” this year which is like a whole new record. I’m really happy *wakakakaka! I guess everyone got tired of asking already :P.

I was telling the boyfriend of how CNY is actually making us poorer and it’s a really sad occasion. Really it is.

I’m not being a grouch but first you become broke from buying all the new clothes (shirts, pants skirt, bag, panties, bra….etc) then you become even more broke by giving part of your hard earned bonus to your parents and siblings and grandparents then you gain a few pounds from all the Shandy and beer and cookies so you become so fat and depress. Don’t even kid yourself that you will get lots of angpows because it won’t even cover your expenses.

CNY is really for kids and old people. They get the most of it don’t they? Hmmm….

Ok, i’m going to stop being a grouch now.

Well, this year we took super lots of photos thanks to my second elder sis whose like totally a camwhore queen. But i won’t post it today because there are some missing and i have to wait for eternity for her to send them over.

This is taken during the reunion dinner at Remember 126 restaurant at Bukit Tinggi (ignore the cheesy name pls *chucks*).
