TNB – Operasi Pemotongan KKA

First it was endless spending on the month of June – early July that resulted in us munching on grass. I have no idea where did all the money go… ok maybe i have some ideas – weddings, hospital bills, clinic bills and vaccination bills, birthdays, car repair bills, etc, etc).

And now we are contemplating whether it is cheaper to eat grass or dirt because this came in the mail yesterday.

Seriously??!! Operasi Pemotongan KKA??!

At first we were dead angry because we stay in a condo and no one is at home all day long except at night and we don’t even turn on the air-conditioner to sleep. And how is it possible for us to tamper with the electric meter when we stay in a condo unit where the meters are centralized? Now we have only until tomorrow before the electricity is cut.

So we went online in search of a solution. Apparently there are plenty of people with the same problem. There are only two solutions – to pay even though we are innocent or to bring the case to court. There are incidents where the victim goes all the way to TNB to demand proof and the employee refused to show him the photo of the tampered meter unless in court.

So the boyfriend went to TNB anyways and put on “Don’t mess with me” face. Fortunately the employee was civilized enough to explain and showed him the photo of the meter. It was indeed tampered with… wtf.

This means it was done by the previous owner/tenant even before the boyfriend moved in. We have no choice but to pay the RM677.96!

Sigh… First it was the few hundreds of Indah Water bill which the previous owner left unpaid. Now this.

A word of advice from us to people buying second hand properties – always ask for the latest utility bills and make sure the previous owner had duly paid everything and check the electric meter to ensure it’s in fit condition.

When you encounter situation like this, always ask for proof. Ask to see a photo of the meter to make sure it’s a genuine case, not a scam.

By the way, digesting grass is much more economical don’t you think? After all, dirt perhaps might upset my stomach and i might end up with more medical bills to pay!
