Getting in shape falls in my area of expertise. Or should i say TRYING to get in shape is one of my expertises because year in and year out, getting fit is surely on top of my resolution list. And why you ask, is it always the first on the list still? Because it’s a constant battle of food and laziness versus workout for me! I might as well file this ambitious dream into the “impossible to achieve” section!

Recently however, some events made me even more motivated to lose some inches. A male friend of mine who had been fighting the fats ever since he was a kid has lost so much weight; it’s almost like a miracle. After years of experimenting with diets and workouts regimes, he finally found the perfect combination and it worked wonderfully. He lost so much weight and inches but most importantly he did it in a healthy way.

According to him the best way to get in shape is to know your body. Devise healthy meal plans that you could stick with easily. Healthy meals does not necessary means boring and tasteless food, rather it only means less greasy and fried stuff and less salt and sugar. He came out with fantastic meal like steam chicken drizzled with balsamic vinegar accompanied with blanched asparagus and another one of my favorite, grilled salmon stick drizzled with lemon juice with spinach salad on the side.

Also he goes to the gym 1 hour a day, 3 times a week. Starts from cardio workouts working up to toning and weight training. To boost his protein intake and help in muscle building he diligently takes protein supplements every day.

It might sound easy but it takes a whole lot of determination and motivation to actually follow through the plan. But hey, there’s not free meal in this world, you’ve got to work hard to get the result.
