While some people have natural dry hands, others suffer from dry hands and brittle nails results of external factors such as climate, excessive hand washing and use of strong dish washer or detergent. Even usage of nail polishes might cause the layer of keratin that protects the skin and nails to deteriorate.
To protect the hands i try to use rubber gloves whenever i do washing but it’s not enough. I also experimented with hand creams and hand wash.
Instead of using normal soap which might be harsh on the skin, i am now using liquid hand soap with moisturizing elements.
Since i already am investing in a good hand cream, i try to be economical when purchasing hand washes. Watson carries its own brand of moisturizing hand soaps which cost only RM5.90 (500ml).
There are a few flavors available on the shelves; Lavender & Chamomile, Almond & Milk, Strawberry & Yogurt, White Tea & Ginger and Honey & Milk Extract.
I opted for the Honey and Milk Extract. The hand soap doesn’t lathers well at all but it smells really good. I like the milky texture and it boasts of containing vitamin E and vitamin B5 for nourishing and retaining the skin’s natural moisture balance.
While i doubt that the hand soap will heal my dry hands miraculously, the hand soap definitely leaves my hands soft and smooth after each wash. The nice fragrance lingers on the hands too.
