The downside of living in the city during Christmas is you don’t get to attend old fashioned Christmas festivals such as the McKinney Dickens festival in Texas.
The downtown McKinney’s premier festival is a joyous festival complete with Victorian atmosphere where there are horse drawn carriages, strolling carolers, Santa Claus and Christmas tree lighting. But most important of all is that the festival has a snow tubing hill. Isn’t it great?! I love snow tubing! It’s exhilarating! It’s an excellent activity for the family but i must warn you to be careful because it might get really bumpy down the hill. Hold on tight!
Anyways, there will be all kind of fun activities for all ages. There will be wonderful restaurants and shops around for everyone too enjoy during the holiday season. During December, the opening hours of the shops in McKinney will also be extended. Customers could take this opportunity to finish up the Christmas shopping at the many bookstores, boutiques, galleries and gifts shops around the town. Who knows what great gifts you might be able to find for your loved ones.
McKinney Dickens starts on the 28th November as a kick start to Christmas in December. Don’t miss the good food and old charm of the Dicken’s era!
