I thought of something really funny last night while i was brushing my teeth. It made me chuckled and i almost swallowed the Darlie foams. Yet, now when i turn on my laptop and have a little bit of free time to blog about it, i can’t remember what it was. Old age is really creeping up on me.
I used to have a good memory and i don’t get tire even after a day of non-stop shopping spree. Now i’m just a blob of over indulged goo. By evening i would have stiff shoulders and back ache and if i’m “lucky”, a blardy big migraine.
You know, i used to wish i was older because i have a mature face. I look 20 when i was 18 (now that i’m 26 i don’t dare to think). I thought, if i was older then people can call me “aunty” and i wouldn’t be so embarrassed or irritated … err… Not that anyone called me aunty before lar. You know what i mean?
It’s like,
Stranger: Lui Lui come here. Don’t disturb aunty ok.
Me: Err…
Face flushed.
Avert eye contact.
Pretend not to hear what she said.
Vengefully but silently curse her to hell and back.
Turn around and check which part of the clothes had “aunty” plastered on it in neon flashing light.
Think to myself “Sei lar… this is the new Zara dress wor… how come i look aunty lar. Sei lor. Later people laugh at me… sei lor! How to get boyfriend like this. I don’t look aunty wat. No lar. She must be blind. Yalar. She blind lar!!! I don’t care!!!”.
Now, if i was older then it’s another story. It’ll be like this,
Stranger: Lui Lui that aunty gives you sweets ar? So good wor. Faster call aunty lar. Be polite ok.
Me: Errr…
Face flushed.
Began to curse out loud but manage to stop myself.
Think to myself “Wait a minute. Technically speaking i am aunty already. Nevermind lar”.
Me: You’re welcome. Your Lui Lui is very adorable.
Lui Lui: Aunty!
That’s what i thought it would be like. Wishful thinking huh? Who am i kidding? If some poor pathetic soul has the misfortune to call me “aunty” now, i’ll just whack him/her with my very young and vibrant fist.

hah. take it easy.

I’ve exactly the same “auntified” experience as you lor…
I’m 30, I’m still single and my neighbour’s kids call me aunty.. *woahhhhhh run to the toilet and cry*
