I’m in a dilemma. Here’s the situation.
1)
Let say you saw a pitiful puppy in a tiny box, in front of a shop. She’s tiny. Maybe about 1 month plus of age. One of her hind leg is swollen and bleeding. Obviously, she was run over by a vehicle. She can’t move it and is in pain. She lies there in her urine coz she can’t move away.
Even worst, you found out from the shop owner that the pup was dumped in front of her shop in a black rubbish bag. The shop owner feeds it but refuses to take her to a vet.
Nevertheless, she’s active and happy to see you. She licks you and seems to be healthy apart from her injury.
What would you have done?
a) Leave her there to suffer.
b) Take her to the vet and take her into your home.
c) Take her to the vet and leave her there but try to find her a good home.
2)
Let say you selected option c).
Now, you took her to the vet. The vet held her up and there’s blood practically oozing out from her wound. The bone was poking out from the skin.
The vet told you that the pup has a bone fracture (there is possibility of her having more than one fracture) and her wound has internal infections. But he also confirms that she is quite healthy apart from the fracture.
Her X-ray might reveal more than one fracture which means she needs to go for surgery. It’ll cost approx. RM400 per fracture (after discount coz she’s a stray).
Vet gave you an ultimatum.
a) Euthanasia (put her to sleep)
b) Go through all the process of X-ray and surgery.
What’s your decision?

At times, i wonder why do i always stumble upon such situations. Is god testing me whether i’m a kind hearted person? (Have i not proven it more than enough?) Or, is god trying to tell me to mind my own business?
Next time i walk, i’ll look at the clouds for directions instead of the road. I might be more successful.

I guess I would take the dog in the box and put it in front of a animal shelter or welfare or some sort… I guess that’s the best way and they would tend to the wound and still get care…
Once, I took a dog to the vet to put it to sleep… bad experience!
This is a very tough decision to make. If I’m financially stable, I don’t mind paying to heal the dog and later find him a better home. If I can’t, I think I’ll have no choice but to leave the dog outside the vet as how dezmond suggested. That way, I won’t feel guilty for neglecting the sick dog and I trust the vet will take care of the doggy’s wound.

dez>> but the chance of getting adopted in an animal shelter is very slim ma. plus i didn’t know the injury so serius till i got it treated at the vet…
kuan chuen>> yeah… i’m trying to avoid that… poor pup
labeille>> the vet i went to is very teruk. but it’s the only one open till so late… sigh…
