After i found out about the new Maybank Visa Debit card from iCalvyn, i went and applied for it. I thought i could use it for PayPal withdrawal. It’ll be more convenient than Al-Rajhi’s card coz Al-Rajhi’s ATM machines is really limited.
Maybank Visa Debit Card is free of charge for new customer but it’ll cost RM12 for existing customer in order to convert the existing ATM card. It’s great coz you get the card on the spot and there’s no hassle at all.
Among the benefits of the new visa card is that you accumulate ‘treats’ points everytime you use the card. The points could later be redeem for other promotions. However, upon adding the card into my PayPal account, i receive this message:
“This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer’s customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card.”
Apparently, this new Maybank Visa Debit card does not support online services and PayPal withdrawal… yet. I’ve heard that they are planning to introduce the feature somewhere in June but i’m not sure. I’ve written to Maybank myself and lets hope they’ll be good news.
