All Blogger Sifu Out there: Help? Pretty please?

Facebook Twitter Email Linkedin Digg Delicious Stumbleupon Reddit Tumblr
Dear blogger sifu(s) out there,

I’m considering getting my own domain (WordPress or anything that’s good). However, i hope my PR (Technorati, Alexa and whatever else there is) will not be effected. Is there anyway i can do so?… or does moving to a new domain mean definitely i have to start from zero ranks. Please don’t tell me it’s the later.

Forgive me for being such a blurpot. I really hope to hear some advice or even better if you have personal experience in this.

Sincerely *batting eyelashes,
SlowCatchUpKuan the slow-catcher-ina

It will drop anyway, but after a mth or so, if your context and relevancy is tip top..you will get yr PageRank back.

PR3 is kinda easy to get back..as long as
    1) you don’t do paid post and
    2) you post relevant stuff VERY OFTEN, which is good income with the FORBES too…

Need not forget you need loads of linky love and huge traffic….

    Best Regards

    azrin

PS: I had a dormant blog with PR4… haa haa

Kuan, sorry to disappoint but it will be from 0. Anyway azrin pointed out some stuff for you to follow to regain PR.

Having own domain is fun. You could try and get a hosting package that could host 10 domains so you can setup domain for your foodie blog, blurryhunnie and friends all for a low fee. :)

    All the best!

any sifu can help me too?
Hehe.. kuan, i going to get my own domain soon too.. So kinda busy with many stuff as well in this few weeks.. sob sob

  11. Steven Goh says:

Anything that start with new domain will need to work from zero again, especially with PR. For google, PR is very sensetive. It is very credential that your new blog contain 3:1 unpaid posts: pay posts, else it will drop back from any rank to 0. If you are working for PR, remember to do some survey on keyword before you start a new post as external links is very important for google.

    Okies, thank for steven goh!
I learn more about PR again..

  17. endroo G says:

you can regain the PR very fast with a domain. You can always keep the old blogspot and put a post to lead the visitors to your new domain, like what i do. And porting your old Blogspot database to new domain… you’ll have the best of both world. You’ll be grateful if you have a domain. Trust us all.
