Don’t tell me you don’t know what Tintin is ok!… uhm… well ok i don’t blame you. Maybe only old lady like me would know. I’ve read The Adventures of Tintin: The Seven Crystal Balls when i was in primary school. I had no idea where i got my hands on the copy but i remember that i was pretty fascinated by it.

Tintin comics were created by a Belgian artist Hergé, publish in the 1920s. The stories was focus on a journalist called Tintin accompanied by his dog, Snowy traveling all over the continent having dangerous adventures and solving mysteries. It’s something like a Sherlock Holmes and Indiana Jones mix. Sad to say that there’s only 24 episodes to this comic before the artist passed away in 1983.

It was quite popular back then and mind you, the one i read was not those polish quality printed comics like today but prints on newspaper textured paper. *damn classic i tell you.

There are two versions available in Kinokuniya. One is the hard cover with each cover containing 3 stories. There are 24 episodes in total so there are 8 volumes costing RM60++ each. However, i very much prefer the paperback because if you are a collector then you’ll get to collect all 24 unique covers of the comic which cost about RM30 each. Damn cool i tell you.

I bought EatAllYouCanShung his very first Tintin comic as a Christmas present coz i think it’s about time i poison his mind with Tintin obsession so he would start collecting and i could read it for free *wakaka! Psst, i told him i bought it coz i don’t want him to get the same thing for me but i’m not telling which one i bought for him. That’ll come later on Xmas day.

Anyways, he went to Kino today and grab another copy. It’s the first edition which is in black and white. Very old school :).

Oh yeah, i heard there’s a Tintin movie coming next year or a year after. *it’s a bout time! Something to look forward to indeed!
